Who can tryout for cheerleading?

Anyone who lives in the attendance zone, is in good physical shape, and completes and returns the mandatory forms by the deadline.


How many cheerleaders make the team?

There is no set number for our squads. The number will depend on the natural break in the tryout scores.


Do you have to know how to tumble to tryout for cheer?

No. However, it is highly recommended and a portion of the judges' tryout score sheets. Candidates will be required to perform the skill of a back-handspring to be placed on the Varsity squad.


How many jumps do you have to do at tryouts?

3 different jumps are required - Toe Touch, Pike and Left or Right Hurdler


Do the coaches judge tryouts?

No. Outside judges are hired to conduct tryouts, but the coach does have a portion of the overall score to evaluate discipline, attendance, and leadership.


When are tryouts held?

The week before Spring Break (Monday-Thursday).


Does cheerleading count as a P.E. credit?

Yes! Cheerleading will count as P.E. credit the first year, and a Fine Arts credit every subsequent year.


How much does it cost to be a cheerleader?

Expenses involved in cheerleading can surpass $750 and is projected to be around $1000 for new cheerleaders.
